EU助成研究によりHIV患者に希望
【19日・欧州委員会発表】ローヤル・フリーHIV医学センター（Royal Free Centre for HIV Medicine）とローヤル・フリー・アンド・ユニヴァーシティ・コレッジ・ロンドン・メディカルスクール（Royal Free and University College London Medical Schools）が行い、欧州委員会が助成した研究が示したところによれば、併用抗レトロウィルス療法（cART = combination antiretroviral therapy）を用いたHIV患者の長期的治療によって、HIV患者の免疫機能は、健康体にみられるものと類似の水準にまで効果的に恢復する。この発見は、長年の欧州のコラボレーション研究である「EuroSIDA」（1994年以来欧州委員会が助成する研究プロジェクト）の分析から抽き出されたものである。
