新規則により第三国からの旅客がEUの空港で免税品液体を没収される事例が減少へ
【31日・欧州委員会発表】欧州委員会が本日採択した規則は、航空旅客が第三国から免税品の液体を購入して到着し、EUの空港で乗り継ぎを希望する場合に直面する混乱を対象としている。現在のところ、EU域外で購入した液体は、手荷物として許可されている一定量を超える場合には、EUの空港において抛棄しなければならないものとされている。その理由は、当該液体が、EUの空港〔の免税店〕において販売された液体と類似の安全基準を充たしているかを検査する手段がないためである。本日採択した規則により、欧州委員会は、「第三国においてEUと同様の安全基準が適用されているかどうか」、「飛行の安全基準が全体として十分なものであるかどうか」の二点について検証することができるようになり、これらが充たされている場合には、当該第三国の免税店で購入された液体についても、EUの空港における飛行機への持ち込みを許可することができる。これにより、当該第三国から到着した旅客が他のEU内の都市に向けて飛行する場合にも、購入品を機内に持ち込むことができるようになる。
