欧州がギリシャ山火事の消火努力を強化
【25日付・26日欧州委員会発表】欧州はギリシャの支援要請に対して迅速に反応し、フランス・イタリア・スペインは、被災地域への消火飛行機の派遣を既に行い、または行うところである。ノルウェー・ドイツ・オランダも、特殊ヘリコプターを派遣するところである。総勢13機の航空機が派遣されて、不利な気象条件において鎮火を行うギリシャの努力を支援することになる。
欧州委員会のスタヴロス・ディーマス委員（環境・市民保護担当）は、「EU加盟国は、危機状態にある国への連帯を再び示している。ギリシャの支援要請に対する加盟国の迅速な反応が、この山火事の消火活動に対して効果的に貢献することは疑いのないところであり、また、この支援がこれ以上の死傷者を防いでくれることを希望する」と述べた。
