たばこの不法貿易の撲滅：WHOたばこ規制枠組条約の将来的な国際議定書の下準備
【14日・欧州委員会発表】30か国以上の代表、欧州委員会の代表、国際組織の代表、NGOの代表は、世界保健機構（WHO）のたばこ規制枠組条約の議定書に関する2008年の初めの交渉の下準備を行うため、12月5日・6日に、モンテビデオ（ウルグアイ）において、たばこ製品の不法な貿易に関する地域会議に参加した。議定書は、特にたばことたばこ製品の不法貿易の撲滅を対象とする予定である。健康・消費者保護総局とともに、欧州欺罔行為防止庁（OLAF）も、タバコ製品の密輸入・偽造の撲滅に取り組んだ経験をシェアすること（プレゼンや会議部会の司会等）により会議に貢献した。この会議は、ウルグアイ政府主催、世界保健機構後援で開催され、ウルグアイ大統領と同国厚生大臣（閉幕の挨拶をした）が協力にサポートした。
