キプロス市民・マルタ市民のユーロ使用開始は迅速
【3日・欧州委員会発表】キプロスとマルタは、1月1日にユーロを採択した。入手可能な証拠はすべて、転換オペレーションが大過なくきわめて滑らかに進行していることを示唆している。既に1月2日には、両国において相当数の現金取引がユーロで行われており、市民の約40パーセントについては、財布の中身がユーロ現金のみ又はユーロ現金が過半数となっていた。
