テレコム：欧州委員会が連合王国のブロードバンドの市場の一部を規制緩和するOFCOMの提案を承認
【14日・欧州委員会発表】欧州委員会は、本日、連合王国のブロードバンド卸売市場につき、全家庭・企業の約65パーセントをカバーする数箇所の部分において規制緩和を行う旨の連合王国のテレコムの規制当局オフコム（Ofcom）の提案を承認した。EUの国内規制当局が、一箇国の中の異なる地理的区域において異なるブロードバンド市場を特定し、かつ、現在は効果的な競争が行われているかかる地理的区域における規制撤廃を提案するのは、初めてのことである。欧州委員会は、詳細な経済的な証拠に基づき1万件の家庭・企業を擁する地域で事業を行う（または行いうる）4社のプロヴァイダのローカルな交換について規制緩和を行うオフコムの提案を支援する。欧州委員会は、オフコムの提案は、構造的な競争問題が残る地理的区域に集中することにより、より狙いを定めた規制に向かう合理的な動きであると受け止めている。
