欧州の科学技術とイノヴェーション 2006年のEU27の研究開発支出は対GDP比1.84％で変わらず EU27の労働力の5％が科学者・技術者
【10日・欧州統計局発表】2006年のEU27か国の研究開発（R&D）支出は、対GDP比で1.84パーセントだった。2005年の研究開発支出も対GDP比1.84パーセントであり、変わらなかった（2000年は1.86パーセント）。もっとも、2006年のEU27の研究開発支出額は、2100億ユーロ以上であった（2000年は1700億ユーロ）。
欧州統計局（欧州諸共同体統計局）は、2008年版の「欧州の科学技術・イノヴェーション」を公表した。これは、欧州連合を2010年までに世界で最も競争力があり、最もダイナミックな知識基盤の経済とするリスボン戦略において欧州理事会が設定した戦略目標に合わせて、広汎な指数をカヴァーするものである。これらの指数に含まれるのは、研究開発支出、研究開発人員、特許、ヴェンチャーキャピタル、ハイテク貿易その他のハイテク・知識関連度の高い経済部門に関する指数である。
